Head coach of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro, has hailed his team’s 2-1 win over Sierra Leone in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Leone Stars took the lead in the 11th minute, before the Super Eagles levelled five minutes through Alex Iwobi.
Victor Osimhen produced the icing on the cake to hand Eagles a 2-1 victory and three points in the kitty.
An elated Peseiro told reporters after the match; “We were better than Sierra Leone in this game, we deserve to win. We changed the setup in the second half, I think it was only the last 10 minutes our opponent had some good moments,”
“We created a lot of scoring chances, we could have won with a bigger margin, but the team needs more time and we must work.”
The Eagles will next face Sao Tome and Principe in Agadir, Morocco in continuation of the qualifiers ahead of the 34th Nations cup in Cote d Ivoire.
