Erik ten Hag will miss Ajax’s post-season vacation to Curacao to begin working for Manchester United tomorrow, Monday, as he prepares for next season at Old Trafford.
In his final game as manager of Manchester United, the new manager supervised a 2-2 draw with Vitesse on Sunday.
Ten Hag will succeed Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, but he is eager to get started.
“There’s a lot of work that still needs to be done,” said the 52-year-old.
“I think that’s understandable. This applies to every new club.
“A number of things still need to be organised with the staff and also with the squad. We will be working intensively on that from [Monday].”
Ajax will go to Curacao as part of their sponsorship obligations and play a friendly against the national team.
Manchester United play Crystal Palace in their last game of the season on Sunday, May 22nd, hoping to finish in the top six. Ten Hag may attend that game and then proceed to Manchester.
Ten Hag, who has been the manager of Ajax since December 2017, has agreed to a three-year contract extension at Old Trafford.
