Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, could miss the next eight matches after picking up an ankle injury, during the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final.
De Bruyne landed awkwardly on the outside of his right foot during the game and was replaced by Phil Foden just three minutes into the second half.
The 29-year-old’s instant reaction suggested the injury was not good, as he signalled almost instantly to come off.
City are still battling on three fronts, with Pep Guardiola’s side looking to pick up their first piece of silverware this term when they take on Spurs in the Carabao Cup Final next Sunday.
Initial suggestions raised hope that De Bruyne’s injury would give him an outside chance of featuring at Wembley, but the Daily Mail claim the Belgian fears he’s out for the next month.
The playmaker believes he has suffered a recurrence of an old ligament strain, which would put him out for between three to five weeks. Should De Bruyne miss the next month, he will miss eight fixtures in total including the Champions League semi-finals against Paris Saint-Germain.
