President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, for being a ‘loyal and dependable partner’ as he congratulated his deputy on his 61st birthday on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
In a message posted on his official Twitter account (@MBuhari) on Thursday, the president posted, “Happy 61st Birthday, @ProfOsinbajo. Thank you for being a loyal and dependable partner on this journey. I join millions of your friends and well-wishers around the world to wish you many more years of service to God, to Nigeria, and to humanity.”
It may be recalled that the relationship between both leaders was tested in 2017 when the president was notably absent as he was away in London to treat an undisclosed illness for several months, leaving Osinbajo in charge as Acting President.
While there were a lot of damaging rumours that the Vice President’s reign in the acting capacity was undermined by a cabal loyal to the president, the two have always enjoyed a cordial relationship in public since they emerged victorious in the 2015 presidential election.
