The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, on Monday shut down port operations across the country.
MWUN took this action in compliance with the strike directive from the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and its Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC.
Besides Lagos ports, all other port formations in Port Harcourt, Warri, Onne, Calabar, and others have been closed.
They would remain shut until further notice from the national leadership of organised labour.
Organized labour shut down the nation’s economy on Monday due to the federal government’s inability to adopt its proposed national minimum wage.
