The
Lord be praised. He is the Lord that lightens the eyes of His people.
The enemy said ,’l have prevailed over him, and those that trouble me
rejoice when l am shaken’ [
Psalm13:3 – 4].
You see, the enemy almost destroyed the new home we had just begun to build some
years back.
We had found each other, my husband and l.
We waited on the Lord for
our lives in marriage and for the weddings the day.
A Man of God, who was always hearing from God, joined us together. It
was a great day for us and our families.
We enjoyed our marriage for two weeks when the enemy struck.
Permit me give an insight to the root of the problem so that you may
learn from it and also see God at work in our home.
Common tooth paste started the fire that almost consume the union.
It was in the morning, we both got up to have our bath and refresh
ourselves when one of us [let me save you who that was] just ‘shouted’
at the other, that in their own family, nobody. pressed toothpaste the
way it was now being done.
A serious argument had started leading to physical
abuse. Or
rather combat. As a woman l had prayed for a husband who would love me
and not beat me. If then, we were starting this early in marriage, there
was no hope of a successful marriage in this union. Thank God for
revealing secrets.
We had both got so annoyed and frustrated with each
other that l had to pack out of the house we had great plans for. I
specially vowed not to go back to a bashing spouse, especially when we
had promised each other before our wedding that such would never
happen.
Our Pastor that joined us together waded in. God, through him made our
eyes to be open. He made us realize that we were harboring a stranger
in our home. As long as that ‘relative’ stay there, no marriage between
us.
And come to think of it, the young girl that was told to come and
live with us, looked so innocent that it was difficult for us to send
her back to her parents.
But we had to make a choice.
To God be the glory, the home is restored.
Our first child is almost 12
years old.
And never since then has there been such scuffing in the house. ONLY GOD
COULD HAVE DONE IT FOR US.
Our marriage would have been grounded for
lack of knowledge.
Had there no revelation to the root of our problems, that would have
been a great loss to both of us – losing what we had both decided to
cherish for ever.
I just thank God today as l remember the whole thing and Jesus stilled
the storm. Halleluyah to His name.
