#KFB Only God Could Have Done This! “My salary was ‘too’ small”

Ah, God, here l am before you, to
testify to your move in my life. When l least expected, you came in. 

You showed Yourself as a God in our
tight situations. The testimony may not thrill everybody, but one thing l know
is that someone will join me to appreciate the grace of God l found and
enjoyed.

I was home for some time not having
anything at hand to earn a consistent living wage. I was only selling modern
day magazines and one or two things. It could not get me anywhere. 

However, l did not stay out of the
presence of God. I waited on Him. I cried to Him and l praised Him at most
times of the day and night. 

  

The story of Moses in the Bible
when he fled from Pharaoh and had nowhere to live, yet in his situation [his
lack], he still attended to the need of the maidens that came around where he
was.

This story always keeps me up, to
forget about my own need when and where l need to offer help as the Lord
enabled me. 

lt might not be financial help, so don’t say l am proud. l kept
believing God for the best He could give. One day, someone came to me asking if
l could help her organization get somebody that would work for them for two or
so months. 

The work was ‘low’ for my level age
and education wise. Yet, l wanted extra income, l volunteered myself. I got
there to have assigned to me a driver and a project vehicle. I was there for
about six months when they changed me to regular staff. 

On this ground l asked for proper
placement especially in salary race but my boss ‘Have you suffered lack?’ l was
told that was the grace of God not sufficient for me. So l kept on. Many times
I was discouraged because the salary was SO small but I didn’t give up. This
January 2014, not yet a full year with this organization, l decided to
appreciate the goodness of God upon my life.

I offered my first fruit of the
year to God. First week in February, we had a guest ministered in our church
who was so much used of God that day. l soberly gave a sacrificial offering.
There was war within my spirit. Was l not behaving foolishly? My
normal salary was not sufficient. Besides this, l had dedicated the whole
salary of January to see God at work in my life. 

But thank God, l felt the moving of
grace upon me and some pushing in the spirit. l was determined. l did
accordingly. God is faithful. God is awesome. Majesty is His name. He rose for
me. The Word of God stands forever. That week, there was a meeting of the management,
my case was brought up and l was placed on the appropriate wage….just like
that!

As if it was not yet over with me,
the Spirit of God moved the heart of the CEO / Chairman, l want to believe
this, the man ordered that my salary should be fully paid (back dated) from the
time l was confirmed a regular staff. lt was a great rejoicing for my entire
family. l was paid five times my earning for eleven months. 

The Scriptures then came to my mind
that ‘Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, press down, shaken
together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For the same measure
you give, you shall receive’ Luke 6:38 Now
by His grace l am what l am today. Only God could have done this, picking me up
from my low state to a well defined place of honour. Praise be to God.
