On Thursday, police in Ibadan charged one Zainab Subair, 54, with fraud.
Subair, whose address was not given, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court on charges of obtaining money by deception and theft.
She, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty.
Subair committed the crimes on September 7, 2022, in Ibadan, according to the prosecutor, Insp Gbemi Adedeji.
Adedeji claimed that the defendant took N280,000 from one Mr Tobi Ayokunle under the guise of securing a flat for him, but failed to do so.
She said that the offences contravened Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs S. A. Adesina, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Adesina adjourned the case until April 11 for hearing. (NAN).
