The Liberian government has complained that its citizens are being harassed ever since the first case of Ebola in Nigeria was recorded by a Liberian.The Ambassador to Nigeria Martin George told Nigeria’s Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu

harassment of Liberians especially in Lagos and other places. This
harassment borders on stereotyping and sometimes expression of collective guilt.“Just because the ‘index case’ came from Liberia, so ‘all Liberians in Nigeria have Ebola’.

has also apologized to Nigeria for Patrick Sawyer’s trip which spread Ebola
into Nigeria. They acknowledged he was aware of his status, and was under
surveillance but, ignored medical advice and escaped .
