Aww, we totally adore our couple of the week – Toke and Tomi.
Even though their official wedding photos aren’t ready yet, we just had to share their beautiful love and proposal story.
The sweethearts met in UNILAG in 2009, began dating in 2010, got engaged in 2014 and got married last weekend in Lagos.

Our love story (by Tomi)
Toke and I met while we were still undergraduates in UNILAG, I was in 300level English and he was in 400 level Engineering.
That fateful night, at around 8pm, I was reading at the Faculty of Science when he came in with his friend Toye and a classmate of mine, Ronke.
Our first discussion was him daring me to splash water on him, he wanted to know if I could pour water on someone whom I was just meeting for the first time.
Well, I splashed water on him truly from the pure water satchet I was drinking from. This happened in early May in 2009. We met again in 2010.
This time, Toke and his friend came to read for their test in art block, and incidentally I was reading in that class with Toye’s girlfriend (Ronke). We wondered how we never ran into each other since that night and exchanged pleasantries and phone numbers.
That is how we became friends and then best friends, we would laugh at each other’s jokes, tease each other, share thoughts and gist hard and it got to a stage that we couldn’t do without each other anymore. So we officially started dating on the 5th of June, 2010.
Toke is just so amazing. I fell in love with his sincerity, love for God, neatness and openness. He knows how to make me smile and laugh, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He is God sent.
Our proposal story (by Tomi)
The proposal happened at Bistro 7 restaurant on the 23rd of August 2014, it was amazing and a shocker to me though..
Toke told me we were having dinner as usual but unknown to me, he had arranged with the staffs on what to serve and what to do.
After the dinner, we had a small time to gist ( i love gisting with my man, lol) then they dimmed the light and started playing cool music. In my mind I was like, what is wrong with Bistro 7 today, hehehe…that is how one of the waiters brought a saucer with the inscription ‘will you marry me’….I was stunned.
While i was yet to get over that surprise, Toke’s friend and sister that were in hiding came out to surprise me too.
I felt special and I said Yes.
