Saying that marriage failure is on the rise in Nigeria and more
particularly in the entertainment industry would be sounding cliché.
Just when you feel you have had enough, another marriage crashes and
leaves many scared and in doubt of the whole idea of marriage.
Recently, more celebrity marriages have hit the rocks with domestic violence been pointed as the culprit.
Chika Ike: Many of her fans are unaware that the
beautiful diva was once a married woman even though the marriage did not
last enough to make her a mother. Chika Ike’s marriage failed because
the actress could not bare the violence of her then husband. Although,
her ex husband and his family were of a different opinion then, but as
for Chika, her marriage was an abusive one and she left.

Another actress whose marriage failed as a result of persistent abuse
is Monalisa. The fair skinned actress who survived a violent marriage
did so with her daughter who was barely a baby then. According to
reports back then, Monalisa’s husband abused her severally till she
could take it no more. The actress left the marriage at last. She
remained single for a long time until she finally remarried last year.

actress has not ceased campaigning for the end of domestic violence ever
