Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly, has reacted to the emergence of Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh as African Democratic Congress (ADC) Deputy Governorship candidate in Rivers State.
Recall that the ADC governorship candidate, Tonte Ibraye, in a statement on Instagram on Friday, confirmed Tonto Dikeh as his running mate.
The statement partly read: “After series of consultations with leaders of our party the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State and the national level, I’m glad to announce Amb. Tonto Dikeh ‘Tonto let ’ as my running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.”
Reacting on his Twitter handle, Sani described the news as a good development while challenging other female Nollywood and Kannywood stars to follow in Tonto Dikeh’s footsteps.
Sani tweeted: “Tonto Dikeh’s emergence as the Deputy Governorship candidate in Rivers State is good for Democracy.
“This is a great challenge to other Female Nollywood and Kannywood stars; to step out of the screen to the ring. I’m not unaware that others have tried in the past.
