Every time i pick up my device to write about the painful passing of everyone’s favorite, Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo, my brain goes blank. This is because i am yet to recover from the shock.
Ibidun died on Sunday of suspected cardiac arrest in Port Harcourt, Rivers State at the age of 39. Born Ibidunni Ajayi, the former Face of Lux was founder of events company, Elizabeth R. She also ran the Ibidun Ighodalo Foundation which supported couples with challenges having children.
Ibidun’s death was a shock down the spine of everyone who knew her (Online or in person).
Celebrities, politicians, social media users and everyone who knew her (or her work) had something BEAUTIFUL to say about her.
Even though her family has requested for privacy while mourning her, the tributes and touching epistles written about her death online make one gnash their teeth over her death.
Reacting to the news of her passing, billionaire businesswoman and Famfa Oil CEO, Folorunso Alakija took to twitter and wrote;
“It is with deep sorrow that I received the news of Ibidunni’s death yesterday. Ibidunni was like a daughter to me, she would call me ‘Mama Mia’. The world has lost a gem and I will forever cherish the sound of her sweet voice. Rest on in the arms of our Father in Jesus Name.”
Former vice president and presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar said she may have been short, but it was impactful.
He said: “The life of Pastor (Mrs) Ibidun Ituah-Ighodalo, late wife of Head Pastor, @trinityhouseng, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, may have been short, but it was impactful.
“Her Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation (IIF), a non-profit organisation, was a source of blessing to many women.
“My deepest condolences to the Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families. May her soul rest in peace.”
Even controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo had a positive thing to say about her.
“Ibidun Ighodalo just became my online friend this February 2020. She said she had a foundation, always checking on me in IG DM. I have screenshots.” Kemi wrote
She was described by many as kind, selfless, loving, caring, cheerful and every amazing adjective you could think of.
Although short, her life was impactful and worthy of note.
She (Ibidunni) will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, caring attitude etc.
She will be remembered as the “Mother of many nations” (Thanks to her foundation).
