Renowned Nigerian author and social media influencer, Reno Omokri , recently took to Twitter to share some thought-provoking insights.
He challenged the commonly held belief that “you rise by lifting others,” expressing that it’s a deceptive notion propagated by manipulators. According to Omokri, the key is not just lifting anyone but lifting the right people.
In a series of tweets, he spoke out on the importance of wisdom in choosing who to uplift. Omokri cautioned against lifting individuals like girlfriends, in-laws, or side chicks, claiming that doing so could lead to a fall. Instead, he advocated for rising by lifting one’s parents and spouse. He went further to stress that the most significant ascent occurs when individuals invest in self-awareness, self-management, and self-development.
Interestingly, Omokri‘s perspective contrasts with popular musician Davido’s belief, who, during an award acceptance speech, has revealed that most people rise by lifting others.
Davido, on the other hand, has been making waves not just in the music industry but also in the fashion world. On April 6, 2023, following his collaboration with Puma, he unveiled a sports-style collection. Inspired by his father’s philanthropic endeavors, Davido imbued each piece of the collection with the motto “we rise by lifting others.”
