Popular YouTuber, Sisi Yemmie has cried out after she and her husband were chased away from their polling unit for looking like Igbo.
Taking to her Twitter page, the food blogger revealed that she and her husband were prevented from voting at her polling unit at Roman Catholic Church, Awoyaya, Lagos State.
Sisi Yemmie, who is still baffled at the incident, revealed that they were prevented from voting because they were mistaken for Igbos.
“My husband and I were not allowed to vote. They said we look like Igbo people. I can’t believe this. Roman Catholic Church Awoyaya”.
Also taking to her Instagram story, Sisi Yemmie, who is an indigene of Lagos, doubled down on how she was prevented from voting because she didn’t look like her tr!be.
She added that she couldn’t record the faces of the thugs who sent her away.
“I was not allowed to vote at my polling unit because they said I look Igbo. That I don’t look Yoruba. I recorded but couldn’t get their faces. But you can hear the conversation. Me, an indigene of Lagos, born in Lagos could not vote”.
Political thugs attack Chioma Akpotha at polling unit with knives and bottles, vandalises her car
Kemi Filani reported that Chioma Akpotha faced similar experience as she was attacked by thugs at her polling unit.
Just like the presidential election, Chioma Akpotha took to her Instagram live to cry out over the threat to her life.
She revealed that she was attacked at her polling unit when she took out her phone to record activities at the unit.
According to her, the thugs came to her with knives and bottles and she fled the scene, leaving her car, which has been left damaged.
“Today is just the worse I couldn’t even being out my phone to record or to say I am at my POLLING unit. As I brought out my phone, this guy’s attacked me with knives and bottles, I had to run out. They destroyed my side mirrors, hit my car. I don’t even know the damage done to my car cause I ran out for my life”.
This is a repeat of what happened at her polling unit during the presidential election.
