It’s a great news for fans of 90’s hit screen series, ‘Violated’ and ‘Checkmate’ as two of their favorite stars in the shows, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) and Ego Boyo, are back together again for a new series which will premiere next month.
RMD and Ego Boyo will be featuring together for the first time since 23 years ago, on a show titled ‘The Mr X Family’. RMD debuts as the producer of the show in which he will also be playing couple with Ego.
The show will premiere on Sunday, May 6 at 6:00PM, on DSTV channel 151, Africa Magic Showcase.
While announcing the new show in 2017, Richard Mofe Damijo spoke on the reunion with Ego Boyo, he said,
“I can only hope that getting back together again on TV will tickle fans of Ann Hathrope and Segun Kadiri and the fans of Tega and Peggy who have been craving to have them grace their TV screens again,”
“Ego and I are pretty excited about this and hope the excitement catches on,” he added.
In the ‘Checkmate’ series which ran from 1991 to 1995, RMD starred as Segun Kadiri, the arch-enemy turned lover of Ann Haastrup, played by Boyo.
The duo returned as Tega and Peggy in “Violated”, a movie that tells the story of a wealthy man who falls in love with a woman beneath his background.
