Celebrity fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld, is dead.
Lagerfeld is reported to have died after a brief illness in Paris.
French media reports that the stylist died on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the hospital he was admitted into last night.
According to the reports, Lagerfeld who was the creative director for Chanel and Fendi, worked up until the time of his death.
The German designer was one of the most outstanding in his field and has created pieces for stars world over.
Celebrities in the fashion industry, including the likes of Italian fashion designer, Donatella Versace, have since taken to social media to express their grief and issue a heartfelt tributes.
“Today the world lost a giant among men,” said the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour.
There had earlier been rumors of his ill health following his conspicuous absence at major fashion events including Chanel’s spring/summer show which took place in January.
