Nigerian billionaire and socialite Obi Cubana has finally been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
This was made known by Lucky Luciano, the Executive Director Cubana Group and a friend to Obi Cubana, in a post shared on Instagram.
In the social media post, the close associate of Obi Cubana expressed excitement, stating that who the son of man has set free is free indeed.

Kemi Filani News earlier reported that Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for money laundering on Monday, 1st November 2021.
The Anambra-born club owner, who arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, at noon on Monday, was interrogated by operatives of the commission.
A source in the EFCC disclosed that Obi Cubana’s case borders on alleged money laundering and tax fraud. Since then, several reactions have been trailing on arrest by many Nigerians and friends of the socialite.
Kemi Filani News recalls that Obi Cubana held a lavish funeral for his mother, Ezinne Iyiegbu, in Oba, Anambra State in July.
Since the talk-of-the-town burial, Obi Cubana has become an inspirational grass-to-grace figure appearing in interviews where he told stories of how he started in a one-room apartment as a fresh graduate undergoing the mandatory national youth service in Abuja in 1999.
He told BBC Pidgin that he started as an estate agent and made his first N1 million through a house furnishing contract he got at that time.
Today, he sits atop sprawling investments in entertainment, hospitality, real estate, among others.
