Nollywood actor and movie maker Ibrahim Yekini, better known as Itele, has addressed some of his fans attacking him over his support for music star Wizkid.
For some days now, Itele has been heavily promoting Wizkid’s songs by using them on his Instagram posts, which didn’t sit well with some of his fans who aren’t supporters of Wizkid. They flooded his comment section threatening not to watch his movies.
Addressing them in an Instagram post, Itele admonished them to stop attacking each other because he chose his favorite artist. He stated that anyone who knows him knows how heavily he supports anyone he loves, and for now, he is a fan of Wizkid.
He begged his true supporters not to dislike him over his sudden love for music as he noted how he often uses other artists’ songs too.
“I’ve been noticing some reactions lately because I’ve been posting Wizkid’s music. To those who feel upset, I want to say this: we shouldn’t attack each other just because I chose my favorite artist. If you know me well, you’ll understand that this is my style. I love something or someone, and I show it openly. That’s how I believe love should be expressed.
For my true supporters, you’ll know that I often use different music on my page, and it’s always been about sharing what inspires me. So please, don’t dislike me for loving Wizkid! And don’t stop loving me for being true to myself.

Similarly, during Wizkid and Davido’s beef, Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner Phyna reacted to the backlash she received for supporting Wizkid. The reality star expressed joy at how her tweet was making people mad. She stated that people should be paying her for the mental distraction as she noted how the minds of Nigerians have been removed from the country’s problem.
Meanwhile, Tiwa Savãge had slammed fans of Wizkid, who dragged her for releasing a song the same day as Wizkid. Tiwa slammed them for coming to her timeline to troll her music, as she called them bullies for coming at her while trying to promote her piece.
Kizz Daniel, during a Twitter conversation with a fan, noted how Davido’s fans, would be happy if he dissed Wizkid, but he couldn’t because many of them are enjoying Wizkid’s hard work. He further stated that it was unwise dissing the Grammy winner as he respects the people before him.
