Popular Ghanaian actor and heartthrob James Gardiner made a new post on Instagram, and it was dedicated solely to making fun of Nigerians following their loss at the AFCON 2023. In his caption, the handsome actor wrote, “I’m Ghana leave this here and go and eat my egg! It’s all love Nigeria You do me I do you! Sure still awake?”
Attached to the caption was a video of a Nigerian fan crying at the end of the match. This post came shortly after Nigeria’s loss at AFCON, and it almost seems like James Gardiner had the post ready before the final whistle was blown.
James Gardiner’s post is a response to the online banter between Nigerians and Ghanaians throughout the AFCON season following Ghana’s loss. There has been a lot of back and forth between both countries, with Nigerian taking the lead and mocking Ghanaians. A lot of hilarious memes were created by Nigerians, covering Ghana’s love for eggs, hence James Gardiner’s comment about going to eat his egg in the caption of his post.
Despite the online banter between Nigeria and Ghana, there has always been a sense of brotherhood between both countries. Their banters are mostly about trivial things like who has the best jollof rice, electricity, music, and most recently, AFCON.
