Award-winning music star Davido has tendered a heartfelt apology to the Commissioner of Police of Osun State, CP Mohammed Umar Abba.
Kemi Filani reported on Monday evening that Davido had the State’s Commissioner of Police over the political crisis rocking the state.
Davido told him to respect the rule of law as he warned him not to try him. He also went on to call him a disgrace to his children as he vowed to lose his cool over him.
Now, taking to his Twitter page, he retraced his steps as he admitted that he allowed his emotions to run high due to the tragic loss of lives, but he now appreciates his commitment to law and order.
Davido urged security agencies to redouble their efforts in ensuring peace, especially with the upcoming local government elections in Osun State.
“In memories of the innocent souls lost, human emotions overwhelmed me and many of my friends around. We did not know the Commissioner of Police had been having sleepless nights alongside other commanders. At this point, the contributions of the police commissioner were not fully appreciated by me. This is a grave oversight, and I want to declare that his support for the rule of law and protection of peace in Osun state is hereby acknowledged and appreciated.
I now see that the issue is more than that of the Commissioner of Police or other security chiefs. The needless killings of today angered me so deeply that I thought such should have been nipped in the bud. Yet, I can see that the security agencies led by the Commissioner of Police put in their best and deserve commendation.

Further review of political development in Osun state revealed more facts, which include several genuine efforts of the state security agencies, including the state Commissioner of Police. The bloodshed of today infuriated me so much that I heaped all the blame on the Commissioner of Police”.
It isn’t surprising to see Davido speak on the crisis in his state as the singer has been actively involved in the politics of Osun State following his uncle’s entrance.
The music icon has always been very supportive of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, constantly posting about him online and attending events in Osun State.
During the Governorship campaign in Osun State, Davido actively campaigned for his uncle, and when he won, Davido celebrated openly online.
Last year, he celebrated his uncle on his latest finished project in Osun State. The project in question was a building project in Osun State.
Also, last year, Davido revealed why he was interested in the Edo State gubernatorial election, as he questioned the police directive for Edo citizens, telling them to return home immediately after casting their votes.
He declared INEC the most dangerous institution in Nigeria as he admonished Edo indigenes not to bow to them. He noted how he had to fight and rant for the Osun Election to be a success in 2022 and is waiting for Osun 2026.
