There’s a traditional rite in Igbo culture whereby, the bride offers a cup of palm wine to her groom after searching for him in the crowd.
Davido and Chioma performed the same traditional rite at their wedding as is customary, but theirs was simply hilarious.
In the video above, you can see Chioma and Davido kneeling down behind a table, and then she offers him a cup of palm wine. Davido eagerly received the palm wine and drank it in one gulp.
As if that wasn’t enough, he stood up after he drank it and shook his head dramatically, while Chioma and other onlookers laughed with mirth.
Davido has had quite a number of memorable moments during this wedding, and most of them are just cute.
His first sighting with his groomsmen was well coordinated, as they lined up for a photo shoot.
Another memorable highlight was when Davido wore traditional Igbo clothes and declared that the entire Nigeria is happy.
Also, in honor of his late mother, Davido and Chioma wore traditional Edo clothes that fully represented the Edo culture.
The newlywed groom also burst into tears at some point when he got very emotional, and his groomsmen had to console him.
Davido also let down a torrent of tears when Chioma’s father prayed for them and gave them his blessings.
This wedding can be best described as one colorful event that embraced culture, starting from the outfits worn by the bride and groom, down to the guests.
