Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has stirred reactions as he shares an interesting photo while congratulating the new Edo State Governor_elect.
Kemi Filani reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) last night declared Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s Edo State governorship election.
The returning officer, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, announced that the APC candidate garnered a total of 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 247,274 votes. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 22,763 votes. Kuta, who is the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, said the APC won the highest number of votes in 11 out of the state’s 18 local government areas; while the PDP led in seven.
Reacting to the news, Charles shared a photo of the Governor-elect kneeling to a superior as he congratulated him on his victory. He prayed that God grant him the courage to be loyal to the ordinary people of the state.
“Congratulations Mr Governor Elect. May God grant you the courage to be loyal to the ordinary people of Edo State”.

Hours ago, actress, Jemima Osunde had also reacted to the gubernatorial election as she expressed fears about the state of governance. She stated that clamoring on social media and creating hashtag campaigns for a better government didn’t work, as she mentioned that protesting in the streets didn’t work either.
Jemima Osunde went on to also highlight that even though Nigerians got their voter cards and went out to vote for their preferred candidate so that their votes would count, it didn’t change anything.
On Sunday, Davido, in a series of tweets, questioned the police directive for Edo citizens, telling them to return home immediately after casting their votes. He declared the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the most dangerous institution in Nigeria as he admonished Edo indigenes not to bow to them.
Explaining to those who queried him for interfering in the election, he revealed that his mother is from Edo and as such, he is interested in the election. He also knocked INEC, calling them a shame as he prayed for God to help the citizens.
Slamming him, Cynthia Morgan noted how he claims his mother is from Edo State, yet she has never seen him visit his family house, nor has he mentioned the village or family she is from. She stated that it has always been a propaganda thing for him as she begged him to leave the Edo people alone. Cynthia made him know that he isn’t from Edo State, neither does he know the struggle of an average Edo man or woman.
