Former Big Brother Naija Housemate Gifty Powers has been dragged over a conversation with her mother about not showing off on social media.
Gifty Powers had taken to her Instagram story to share a photo of the iPhone 13 her husband gifted her on her birthday in October 2021.
The reality TV star revealed her mother constantly berates her about posting like an older woman, unlike young girls on social media.
She wrote: Birthday gift from hubby. Gift wey dem gift me since October 27, na now I dey post. Gifty, stop posting like a 78 years old woman and start posting like how young girls dey post, says my mom. And I’m wondering and asking myself if my mom understand the s’term’ there is a season for everything.
Reacting some netizens said Gifty Powers should confidently show off instead of lying about a conversation with her mother and not frequently posting online.

In a post shared on Instagram, the reality TV star and single mum of two described those who fail to like her children photos as “disguised witches and demons”.
Reacting to Gifty’s outburst, Kemi Olunloyo, in a post shared on the microblogging platform Twitter, advised the reality star to focus on giving her children love and protect them from fake glare on social media.
According to Kemi Olunloyo, social media users clicking love on kid’s picture are the real demons, witches, paedophiles and ritualist.
