In a recent interview and on her podcast titled “Spillwithphyna,” Big Brother Naija Phyna opened up about her challenging childhood, speaking out on the turmoil that unfolded when her father publicly revealed feeling abandoned by her and other family members. PShe shared that over 98%, of her family members displayed a sense of entitlement, which created a persistent stress on her life.
Phyna detailed how the demands from her extensive family have been consistent, particularly after her victory on Big Brother, making it difficult for her to catch a break. The weight of her father’s recent social media rant had also added another layer of difficulty to her already difficult situation.
Adding to the challenges, recent reports from Kemi Filani highlighted Phyna’s revelation on Doyin’s Corner podcast. She disclosed losing a staggering 17 brand deals due to controversies and scandals surrounding her. One instance involved accusations of abuse after media and blogs falsely reported her slapping Groovy over a business deal. The fallout from social media trolling took a toll on her professional collaborations, leading to a significant loss in brand deals.
Also recall that recent controversy emerged when a wig vendor accused Phyna of failing to return a rented wig. Screenshots circulated, revealing negotiations for a reduced price rather than the return of the wig. Addressing the situation, Phyna expressed weariness at the constant online criticism, labeling the accuser a “clout chaser” and urging for more responsible behavior.
In an Instagram live video, Phyna went on to claim that she doesn’t know the accuser and suggested her management team might have handled the transaction without her knowledge, painting the woman as a potential blackmailer.
