Nollywood actress, Monica Friday has penned a note to the Nigerian government, pleading for a change for the betterment and lives of the youth.
The TV gal whose role in Do Good where she stars alongside Kate Henshaw and Basorge Tariah shot her into the limelight in an encounter with Kemi Filani News expressed her concerns since the controversial shooting of EndSARS protesters at Lekki Tollgate, Lagos.
“I am begging the government to do away with every oath that made them so harden to the people, because with a heart of love, service to the people wont be difficult to achieve. They should value humanity. The way forward is that Nigerians shouldn’t keep mute. They have been using the “fear” strategy for a while now. They attack with weapons, and we run. I updated the public during the protest. I let the youths know that telegram and WhatsApp group for each community will help. Nigerians announce their moves, but the government does not. There may be a few snitch amongst us, but we would win,” she said.
Ms Friday also lamented how the Lekki shooting affected her as one of the vibrant entertainers who fully partook in the quest for a better Nigeria.
Hear her: “I was generally affected, emotionally and psychologically. My mum was ill and I was on the street for the protest. People lost their loved ones. And many lost properties due to some thugs that jumped on the peaceful protest. As we speak, I’m actually blank. Nothing surprises me anymore about Nigeria.”
